Samsung has announced the inclusion of a new feature called SeeColors mode in its 2023 TV and monitor lineup. SeeColors is an accessibility feature designed to assist individuals with color vision deficiency (CVD) or color blindness. It offers various color settings based on the degree and type of CVD, providing an enhanced viewing experience. SeeColors mode offers nine different picture presets, allowing users to choose the option that best suits their needs. By adjusting the levels of red, green, and blue, the feature ensures that viewers with CVD can easily distinguish colors on the screen based on their specific condition.
Initially released as a standalone application in 2017, SeeColors helped people with CVD enjoy content on their screens by optimizing color settings. With its integration into the accessibility menus of Samsung TVs and monitors, this feature is now more readily accessible to users. For customers who have already purchased a 2023 model, a software update will be made available to add SeeColors to the accessibility menu.
Samsung’s SeeColors mode has received the “Color Vision Accessibility” certification from TÜV Rheinland, an independent certification organization. This recognition acknowledges the effectiveness of SeeColors in helping individuals with CVD enjoy content on Samsung screens.
