Samba TV said it has rolled out its Smart TV Privacy Manager with Vestel as the first to market. The solution works with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. (The IAB is a trade association that has coordinated a technical framework to simplify and standardise the requirements of GDPR) and also supports the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
For compliance with the IAB TCF in Europe, Samba TV is partnered with Sourcepoint, the privacy compliance platform for the digital marketing ecosystem and a certified member of the IAB EU.
What We Think
Issues of privacy are taken much more seriously in some countries, with Germany being particularly demanding. Vestel has always paid a lot of attention to its middleware to support the brands that sell its TVs, so it’s not surprising to see it working with Samba which specialises in collecting data on viewing.
