Radiant Opto-Electronics reported a 13.2% increase in sales in July to NT$3.5 billion ($109.1 million), though this was 21.4% lower than July 2014. Sales for the year to date were also lower year on year, at NT$22.2 billion ($692.1 million). The company shipped a total of 8.2 million backlight units (BLUs) in July, 11.2% higher than June.
Coretronic’s sales for last month dipped 2.8% month on month and 22.7% YoY to NT$5.6 billion ($174.6 million), bringing sales in the first seven months of the year to NT$38.3 billion ($1.2 billion), 19% down on the same period of last year. The company shipped 5.7 million BLUs in July, decreasing 9% MoM, while BLU shipments for January-July totaled 43.8 million, slipping 15% YoY. Coretronic said it also shipped 104,500 DLP projectors in July, flat MoM and its projector shipments for January to July declined 7% to 608,500.
