Radiant Opto-Electronics, the manufacturer of backlight units, has reported revenues for May 2017 totalling $137.36 million. This represents a rise of 8.76% compared to the previous month, and a rise of 41.77% compared to the same month last year. Year to date revenues totalled $672.79 million, which was a rise of 8.07% compared with the same time last year.
The company chairman and CEO, Wang Pen-jan, stated that with the OLED market posing increased challenges, the company is adjusting its strategy and looking to extend development and production of automotive display panels. The company will also develop and assemble LCD TVs, and cooperate with China-based LCD panel makers in the development of light guide plates.
