Qualcomm Has AR Smart Viewer Reference Design

What They Say

We’ve been reporting on the Snapdragon XR1 processor since May 2018 and it features in AR headsets from Microsoft and Vuzix, among others. Now Qualcomm has formally announced a reference design for AR glasses based on the chip, using BOE microOLEDs running at 90Hz and with 1920 x 1080 resolution. The firm said that the Lenovo ThinkReality A3 glasses, announced at the virtual CES last month (Lenovo Shows ThinkReality A3 Smartglasses) are built on the reference design and Nreal also said it was developing on the platform.

One of the changes is that in the reference design, the hardware for which was made by Goertek, more of the processing is handed off to a connected device.
