QD-OLED Specifications Published

What They Say

FlatPanelsHD reported on its visit to see the QD-OLED technology at CES. Although the report doesn’t add much, it did have a useful table of specifications for the monitor and TV versions that seemed to have more detail than I have seen elsewhere. In deference to its claimed copyright, we haven’t reproduced it here. It also pointed out that the Dell/Alienware three year warranty covers ‘burn-in’.

The blog reports that TCL has said that it has abandoned a plan to adopt QD OLED as it focusses on IJP OLED panels being developed by CSOT, its related panel company.

What We Think

I was thinking about OLED vs LCD as no I have OLEDs as the two main displays for moving content, my smartphone and TV, I find the smearing of my (otherwise fantastic) LCD-based iPad Pro quite irritating.

Later today, in his Display Daily, Pete Putman reveals some interesting measurements of QD-OLED from his visit to CES (CES 2022 In the Rear-View Mirror – due for publication at 9:00 am pacific today) (BR)
