The duo of companies behind 7TV — ProSiebenSat.1 and Discovery — have invited German broadcasters, RTL, ARD and ZDF to join an upcoming collaborative streaming platform.
The joint platform will offer 7TV in its current form, alongside video-on-demand services Maxdome and Eurosport Player, all under one roof. Individual services will no longer be offered once the joint platform is launched, currently scheduled for the first half of 2019.
The platform — which doesn’t have a name as of yet — is being created to be Germany’s answer to Hulu, the companies say.
