At the China Information Technology Expo (CITE), Konka, one of China’s leading HDTV manufacturers, unveiled a pair of new quantum dot UHD TVs based on QD Vision’s Color IQ™ optics. QD Vision’s quantum dots enable Konka to deliver its most visually-stunning TVs ever, featuring the company’s widest color gamut to date.
The new high-end TV models have features including large size, high resolution, Smart TV functionality, wide color gamut, and an ultra-slim design. Konka’s new models will be available at leading Chinese retailers later this year.
“QD Vision’s Color IQ quantum dot technology helps make these new televisions among the best on the market,” said Zhimao Zhuo, Senior Product Manager, Konka. “They deliver a unique combination of sleek design and a stunning viewing experience, all for a very compelling price.” Konka currently has a large share of the Chinese high-end television market. China represents almost two-thirds of global demand for UHD or 4K televisions, according to DisplaySearch.
“We at QD Vision are proud to help Konka bring the best possible viewing experience and genuine value to its customers,” said Matt Mazzuchi, Vice President, Market and Business Development, QD Vision. “We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Konka as we continue to help bring the world’s best color to China and the rest of the display world.”
“Quantum dot technology is one of the biggest breakthroughs for LCD in recent years,” said Dr. Jennifer Colegrove, CEO and principal analyst at Touch Display Research, Inc. “We forecast that, by 2025, 60% of TVs will have quantum dots in them.” Touch Display Research recently published their second edition of the Quantum Dot Display and Lighting Technologies and Market Forecast Report, available at www.touchdisplayresearch.com.
With millions of televisions shipping worldwide with the company’s Color IQ technology, QD Vision continues to be the leading manufacturer of quantum dot optical components for displays.
