What They Say
Porotech, the start-up that has a technology for improving microLED performance (Porotech Could be Disruptive) has said that it has signed a deal with Jade Bird Display (JBD) in China and will provide its technology for JBD.
JBD founder and CEO Qiming Li said:
“As a leader in micro-LED display technology, JBD can see the enormous potential of Porotech’s breakthrough – and we are keen to work with this revolutionary technology to create a new generation of microdisplays.”
What We Think
In terms of my usual ‘if they can do what they say they can do’, this deal is a big endorsement for Porotech’s technology which looked very interesting to me, but I have no way to verify claims or test materials to find the ‘gotchas’. JBD has been showing impressive microdisplays for a number of years and knows more about this area than most, so for Porotech to get a deal says a lot about the reality of its claims and suggests that it doesn’t have any big ‘gotchas’.
