What They Say
Digitimes reported that PlayNitride showed three different technologies of microLED backplanes at Touch Taiwan 2022 based on PCBs, TFTs and silicon (for microLEDs). A large display was based on PCBs and had a luminance of 2,000 cd/m², pitch of 0.43mm and WCG.
For automotive applications, there was a 9.8″ panel with transparency of 65% to 70% and a 11.6″ TFT-based 24:9 2.5K microLED panel. It also showed a 1.58″ TFT-based square-shaped display.
PlayNitride is also showcasing a 0.39-inch Si-based panchromatic microLED panel with resolution of 1,411ppi and brightness of 50,000 cd/m² for AR glasses.
The blog said that GIS showed a 121″ LED display made from curved transparent TFT-based modules and a 55″ touch-enabled transparent OLED.
Transparency was an interesting topic at the event and ITRI had a microLED concept.
Stroke PAE was showing equipment to manufacture microLED.
What We Think
I was pleased to see that PlayNitride will be at Display Week, so expect more on the firm after the event. (BR)
