Pixelligent, which makes materials that help to extract light from OLEDs has received funding of $7.6 million which included contributions from Kateeva, which makes inkjet printers and Tokyo Ohka Kogyo Co Ltd (TOK). The materials are made from xirconia nanocrystals and are claimed to have the highest refractive index and lowest haze in the industry and can boost output by 100%. Pixelligent said that its materials need to be compatible with inkjet printing.
