During Q1-Q3’15, global pico and personal projector sales rose 49% YoY. Revenues were also up, rising 40%. Demand drivers included: new chipsets (1080p DLP and 720p DLP, LCoS and MOEMs); the return of laser-based offerings; expanding product ranges; compelling use cases; and price/performance gains in compact form factors.

China enjoyed robust sales, thanks to increased adoption of personal projectors as well as the entry of new brands into the market. China overtook the USA as the largest single market for pico and personal models. Successful trials and commercial rollouts of streaming projectors are expected to continue to drive strong demand this year.

In the USA, unit sales rose 20% tthrough retail and 55% through distribution channels YoY through November.
