Philips Boosts OLED TV Range with HDR10+

Philips (TPVision) has announced two new OLED TVs for 2018 in addition to the 973 model that was shown at IFA. The 873 and 803 ranges have features including HDR10+ and Ambilight (3 sides) and are built around the Google TV platform with Google Assistant for voice control. The sets also support HLG and HDR10 HDR, but not Dolby Vision. They will all be UHD Alliance Premium certified and processing will be with the Philips P5 Picture Engine which was highlighted at IFA.

The Ambilight feature can work in conjunction with Philips Hue lamps and the technology now has a low latency feature for game play.

The units will come in 55″ and 65″ sizes and will have UltraHD resolution, of course. They will start to ship in May. Pricing has not yet been announced,
