Pervasive Displays, the Taiwanese specialist in EPDs, said that it has developed a way of updating just part of an EPD for applications that might need some updating without losing the rest of the image while the update is performed or where updates need to be accelerated.
The company said in a white paper that after 15 partial updates, it is recommended to update the whole display although this can be updated to 50 or more when using the firm’s own LUT.
