Peerless Extends XBrite Range – Happy about Electric Vehicles

Peerless started by showing us its Xtreme range of high brightness displays which extend from the Xtreme TVs that we reported on last year. The range now includes 43″/49″/55″ and (later) 65″ with FullHD resolution. The brightness is 2.500 cd/m2 and the panels are optically bonded with IP68 sealing and IK10-rated safety cover glass. The operating temperature range is from -35 deg C to + 60 deg C and they have QWP polarisers to allow landscape or portrait operation and IPS panels are used, with LG Display’s MPlus technology RGBW on the 49″ and 55″ versions.
The displays can support direct USB media playback and have a ‘cavity’ for media players. They can run from a 12V PSU and will be available at the end of June in the US and the end of July in Europe.

The company was showing a new totem with IP56 casing and it was showing how its displays could be submerged and how they can withstand high impact when fitted with the special glass.

Peerless has been doing well with its displays for QSRs and is also developing kiosks for electric vehicle charging. The company has a deal for ‘000s’ of units with Volta and they are starting to roll out. The company told us that it is expecting to start work with a supermarket in the UK for the same application. The totems are rated for IP68 and the FullHD displays are bright enough to allow sunlight legibility. Dust can be a particular problem.
