Pay-TV will See Downturn in 2017

It is estimated that one-in-five US adults will not watch pay-TV in 2017, preferring to opt for on-demand OTT services, according to eMarketer. It estimates that 1.7 million adults will stop subscribing to cable or satellite. The total number of households with cable, satellite or telco TV will fall 0.7% to 98.7 million. Time watching traditional TV will decrease to 4 hours 1 minute per day, while digital video will rise to 1 hour 12 minutes.
