What They Say

Panasonic is releasing its first Android TVs in Europe which are targeted to the mid-range of the market.

What We Think

FlatPanelsHD suggests that this may be an experiment by Panasonic. The company has had an interesting history in trying to develop its own platform, using Mozilla and Firefox in the past before developing its own ‘My Home Screen’ OS. I recently finally ‘bit the bullet’ and upgraded my old Panasonic PDP TV. I replaced it with a 2019 model OLED from the company. The interface on the old plasma was always pretty poor, although my wife was quite comfortable with it for accessing Netflix and Prime Video. However, the new one is much better, so much so that it is easier to use the interface than the one on the Virgin Media TIvo box which should also support those channels, but which has a lot more power, potentially. I plan a DD shortly about the new TV. (BR)
