Panasonic’s Solid-State Projector is Maintenance-Free

Panasonic’s newest solid state projector is a 1DLP unit using laser phosphor technology and a four-segment colour wheel: the PT-RZ570U.

Designed for use in mid-size classrooms, the projector is intended to be maintenance-free. Light source lifetime is 20,000 hours, and the product is filter-free. It also has a sealed optical engine block.

As a solid-state unit, the RZ570U can be installed in 360° orientations, with automatic image rotation. The zoom lens features a 2x optical zoom and supports warping, blending and colour matching. Lens shift is manual. Geometric Control and Wave Form Monitor functionality are built in. An HDBaseT-compliant port supports Panasonic’s Digital Link technology.

An ambient brightness sensor is built in, as is Panasonic’s Detail Clarity Processor; this analyses images to improve detail resolution.

Full specifications and release information has not been shared yet, but Panasonic has said that the projector has 5,000 lumens of brightness and 1920 x 1200 resolution.
