Sony wants to be ‘the Netflix of gaming’, chief executive of Sony’s game unit Andrew House has said. The company, which acquired cloud-gaming service Gaikai in 2012 (Display Monitor Vol 19 No 27), intends to develop a service to stream games to many devices – not just those made by Sony.
Scaler vendors MStar, Novatek and Realtek have been named as being in a collaboration with AMD. The companies will build devices with DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync and Freesync by the end of the year.
