Taiwanese sources say that Chinese notebook component makers have temporarily halted expansion of their production capacities. The move comes due to wage increases and short labour supply in the country.

The European Commission has launched a public consultation on future uses of the UHF (700MHz) spectrum (http://tinyurl.com/nnzcomc). Specifically, the EC is seeking views on Pascal Lamy’s proposals last year (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 35), that the spectrum be switched to wireless broadband by 2020. The consultation will run until 12th April.
