Panasonic has acquired TS Sports, a Dallas-based electronic video board systems integrator which specialises in LED display technology solutions. TS Sports’ in-house LED video display fabrication facilities and network of regionally-based technicians will be integrated into the audio-visual business operations of Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company. Financial details were not disclosed.
The NEC European Roadshow is due to start on 4th March. Lasting until 7th May, the show will visit locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, showcasing NEC’s newest products to its partners.

Ross Ashton, a large-format projection artist, has worked with The Projection Studio to create new artwork for the 2014 e-Luminate Festival in Cambridge. The front of Old School and Senate House were lit, using four PT-DZ21K projectors from Panasonic.

RDK Management’s Reference Design Kit (RDK), a pre-integrated software bundle for TV devices, now provides additional support for the DVB broadcast standard. The update has made in-band DVB Service Information (DVB-SI) elements available to the RDK community, largely thanks to contribution by Arris Group.
Dish has said that around 2.601 million gross new pay-TV subscribers joined the company in 2014; slightly down from the 2.666 million joining in 2013. Average monthly churn was effectively flat, growing from 1.58% to 1.59%. In Q4, 16,000 customers left Dish, compared to an addition of 8,000 in Q4’13.
Witbe, which monitors the quality of experience for service providers’ and content owners’ IP video, has added UltraHD support to its product offering. The company is now able to perform lab testing and live monitoring, detecting conformance issues without downscaling, through an UltraHD set-top box’s HDMI output.
