Foxconn is considering establishing LCD TV production lines in India, to cope with demand from Sony, say industry sources. Production will begin in the second half of the year, at the earliest.

Panasonic Chosen for Spanish Airport Rollout
Madrid-based Cemusa has won a contract to operate advertising in all airports in Spain. Following a proposal, it has been agreed that 171 of Panasonic’s TF-70LF50 70″ LCD displays will be installed in various locations. They will operate 24/7. Each display has 1920 x 1080 resolution and can reach 700cd/m² of brightness.
Non-PC Production Climbs at Inventec
Inventec aims to ship between 65 million and 70 million devices this year, the company said at its investors’ conference. ABI Predicts 1.1 Billion Pay-TV Subs by 2020
The worldwide pay-TV market grew 4% in 2014, to reach 923.5 million subscribers, says ABI research. However, weak exchange rates kept revenue growth lower, ending the year at $257 billion. ABI expects the market to reach 1.1 billion subscribers in 2020. Satellite and IPTV grew the fastest, while cable and terrestrial had slower growth rates.
