A man has fixed his dead laptop by baking it in an oven. Sean Buckley, writing for Gizmodo, fixed his device following a recipe from the world’s greatest cookbook: the internet. The actual problem was a faulty Nvidia GPU (the same responsible for the Xbox’s ‘red ring of death’), which would overheat and melt the solder connecting it to the motherboard. More heat was the obvious solution! The steps can be summed up as follows: 1) Strip laptop; 2) Place motherboard in oven; 3) Bake at 320° – 350° for 4 minutes per side; 5) Allow to cool and serve in original chassis.
