MStar to Acquire Alpha Imaging for $66.5 Million

MStar Semiconductor said it plans to acquire Alpha Imaging Technology for NT$2.1 billion ($66.5 million), as part of its strategy to expand its interests in the Internet of Things and image sensor chip business. Alpha designs chip solutions for TV and web cameras, smartphones and driving recorders.

MediaTek Boosted by Demand from China
