Hannstar has announced that its unaudited consolidated net sales for January reached NT$1.4 billion ($42.5 million): a 15.7% MoM increase, but 32.5% YoY fall. Small-and-medium panel shipments reached 39.4 million units, up 10.4% MoM. Large-sized monitor panels and HannsG product shipments rose 102.8% MoM, to 104,000 units.

Russian satellite TV operator NTV-Plus has announced that it plans to convert all of its remaining MPEG-2 channels to MPEG-4 between the 3rd of March and the 25th of June this year.
According to The Diffusion Group, US multichannel video programming distributors will move to make recommendation-based program guides the centerpiece of their updated TV interfaces. The use of these recommendation-driven guides is expected to flourish, driving 75% of all TV viewing within the next ten years.
