Dolby has launched a dedicated portal for VR content, with Jaunt VR. The titles, accessible through the Jaunt VR app, feature soundtracks mixed using Dolby Atmos. As part of the launch, Jaunt released ‘Mull of Kintyre’ in Dolby Atmos – the latest episode in a multi-part documentary series about Sir Paul McCartney.
Vodafone is said to be testing a 4G TV app, which can be used to access ‘almost’ 20 local and international TV channels and VoD services, in Romania. It is available for free to Vodafone customers. The app marks another step towards an entrance into the Romanian TV market for Vodafone.
The Jackie Chan Cinema in Beijing is the first in China to boast a Dolby Cinema auditorium. Attendees to the Beijing Wukesong site can now watch films in Dolby Vision, with Dolby Atmos sound. Cinema owner, Sparkleroll plans to develop 10 more Dolby Cinema sites around China over the next two years.

LG has begun working with the Natural History Museum in the UK, sponsoring its summer exhibition, ‘Colour and Vision: Through the Eyes of Nature.’ With a focus on colour, LG is loaning its 65″ and 55″ EG960V and EF950V UltraHD OLED TVs for the installation. Colour and Vision will be open until the 6th November.
Opera has launched Opera TV Snaps 3.0, the latest version of the company’s OTT app generator for broadcasters, content providers and VoD services. The new version can be used to mix live broadcast streams, past video clips and full series content in a single app.
