Amazon has started shipping its Fire TV stick for $40 in the US and also available in Europe. The unit supports the Alexa voice technology as it now has a quad core processor and will have a new user interface later. Resolution is up to FullHD and the device supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
Spotify said that the new version of its app for Samsung Tizen-based smart TVs is improved and can now support both paid and free subscribers. The company also supports Android TVs, Roku, Chromecast, Boxee and the Amazon Fire TV (but not AppleTV, although it can be used by exploiting AirPlay).
