The German car-maker, Mercedes-Benz, is to unveil updated 2018 S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet models at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Both models will be available with taillights that feature 33 individually controllable OLEDs. Mercedes pointed out that OLED lights can light up the entire taillight surface, whilst LEDs emit light in the form of points. The major benefit with OLED lights is that car makers can get creative, since the light modules can be controlled individually. The OLED taillights are believed to have been sourced from Osram.
The 2018 S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet will also include restyled headlights and bumpers. There will also likely be a few more colour options and updated alloy wheel designs. Inside the 2018 models will get an updated dashboard with a single pane of glass covering the two 12.3” screens, instead of the two panes on the current model.
