Oculus has launched its Oculus Education pilot programme and is now distributing its Go and Rift VR headsets to schools, libraries and museums in Japan, Seattle and Taiwan. The motivation behind the pilot is the study of VR’s efficacy in educational environments, in an effort to promote the wider spread adoption of VR.
Teachers and instructors will be shown how to use of the technology before it is provided to students and other users. Then they will deliver feedback to Oculus’ product teams. Back in November, the company said, “The mission of Oculus Education is to empower communities through VR’s ability to positively impact learning and to support equitable access for all”.
