Oculus has announced on its blog that it has developed an update to the Oculus Rooms app to version 1.2. The Rooms and Parties platform allows the sharing of 360º videos and games. The app now means that voice can be used for search and Oculus Events allows users to ‘meet up’ for joint experiences. Oculus Events has a range of content from multiplayer games and tournaments to tech talks and trivia.
The content on a display can also be livestreamed to Facebook for sharing. Oculus said that it has more plans to make VR more social.
The Facebook 360 app is now available on the Gear VR to allow the watching and sharing of 360º videos. Oculus said that there are more than a million 360º videos and 25 million 360º photos on Facebook already.
