Nvidia May Update Shield at CES

Nvidia is rumoured to be planning to show a new version of its Shield game system that substitutes bluetooth for Wi-Fi to communicate between new thinner controllers and the main system unit. The Wi-Fi connectivity is improved to use MIMO and 802.11ac technology. There is also speculation that the unit will support UltraHD streaming using the Google Play Movies service (Google Now Has UltraHD Movies) as it has support for the VP9 codec and Nvidia positions the box as the ‘best Android TV box’.

Nvidia will be giving a keynote at CES.
