What They Say
In a talk at the Nvidia GPU Developers’ Conference (GDC) this week, Nvidia said that it will make it easier for app developers to integrate foveated rendering (FR) into their applications. Nvidia developed the technology with Tobii and is calling the latest version VRSS 2. In a blog article, the firm points out that VRSS is a ‘zero-coding solution’ and that HP’s Omnicept G2 HMD will include the technology along with Tobii’s eye-tracking, especially Tobii’s Spotlight tracking technology.
Nvidia listed 32 titles with support for VRSS.
What We Think
As Mark Zuckerberg highlighted recently, the level of processing needed in headsets and the heat generated is a big issue and foveated rendering is a key component. We have been reporting on this now for six years (79 articles featuring the phrase since then!). The technique (BR)
