The Nikkei has published a nice infographic that identifies the Japanese companies in materials and equipment that are profiting from the boom in investment and sales in OLEDs in Korea and China. As well as companies such as Idemitsu Kosan (OLED materials) and Canon Tokki (equipment), the paper explains that Mitsubishi Chemical has a specialist team working on OLED material for inkjet application and, according to the paper, has received orders. Sumitomo is developing a similar material.
Idemitsu is reported to be planning a boost of 70% in its OLED capacity by the end of this financial year. The paper identifies Dai Nippon Printing and Toppan Printing as key suppliers of the metal masks used in vapour deposition.
