What They Say
We saw a couple more items after Qualcomm’s announcements last week.
9to5Google reported that Niantic showed a prototype of its new (“Not final”) design for an AR headset using the new Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 headset which includes better user comfort and with a target weight of less than 250 gms (8.8oz). The headset is intended to be wireless. There’s a video showing ‘actual headset gameplay’ here.
VRScout reports that Nreal has updated its Nreal Air glasses with with a firmware update that means that they now work with games consoles such as the Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Steam Deck
What We Think
I also spotted a comment from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman who said he expects an announcement about a new headset from Apple at the developers’ conference next June, with hardware arriving ‘within the year’. He also said on an un-related topic that Apple is currently offering 8% and 10% discounts to businesses on Mac computers. (BR)
