Codec developer, NGCodec, which is working on HEVC and V-Nova and has Xilinx as an investor, has raised $8 million in Series A funding bringing the total funding raised by the company to $15.9 million. Xilinx was joined by Belmore Capital and the National Science Foundation. The company has developed HEVC encoding in the cloud (using AWS). The firm expects the technology to be used in AR and VR and claims low latency encoding with low latency as well as live broadcast.
