NextVR, a technology company that captures and delivers live and on-demand virtual reality experiences with its patented software, today announced they will broadcast from RED Digital Cinema’s booth live and in virtual reality to five countries simultaneously.
This will take place daily at RED’s booth #SL1517 at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference, held in Las Vegas from April 13th–16th.
This virtual reality event will debut the highly anticipated WEAPON™—the latest digital camera to be added to the 6K DRAGON sensor family. While details will be revealed during the show, RED maintains that RED WEAPON will adhere to the company’s dedication to “Obsolescence Obsolete®”—a core operating principle that allows current RED owners to upgrade their technology as innovations are unveiled.
Broadcast locations include RED’s offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, China, and India as well as RED’s flagship New York and Los Angeles stores. This is the first ever live virtual reality broadcast to multiple global locations. RED employees and customers, including top filmmakers, will witness the show live as if they are at NAB.
“RED consistently ups the ante on the NAB show floor and we’re proud to help them take it a step further this year with our first ever global VR broadcast,” said DJ Roller, co-founder, NextVR. “We use RED cameras with our technology to produce the highest quality content for our viewers, so we are thrilled to be here partnering with RED at NAB.”
NextVR views delivery of premium content to consumers as essential to the progression and success of live-action VR. The company’s focus on live broadcasts aims to connect the most viewers to the places they wish to be from wherever they are. Live, high-quality virtual reality delivers an immersive personal experience like no other in existence.
