HbbTV 2.0 has been released by the HbbTV Association. New services are expected to be introduced beginning in 2016. The 2.0 specification adds support for standardised UltraHD content delivery, using HEVC; HTML5 user experiences; and viewing of content across multiple devices, among other features. We thought that HbbTV would be important and it has proved so in the European TV market. The extension to add UltraHD and support multiple devices seem like a good idea to us. (BR)
