Daktronics has announced it has been chosen to design and manufacture 229 new displays along I-395 this year for the Virginia Department of Transportation (DOT) in the US. In 2012, the DOT installed 83 displays along I-495, following up with 346 signs on I-395/I-95 in 2014, bringing the grand total to 658 Daktronics displays.
While helping to reduce commute times, these displays also help motorists safely navigate busy Virginia freeways, alerting travelers to weather conditions, public safety announcements, amber alerts, roadway incidents and construction information. Lane reversal and tolling information will appear with varying prices based upon congestion.
