Canon announced two new projectors, the XEED WUX500ST, a 1920 x 1200 LCOS device that has a short throw lens and is designed for installation. A special version (suffixed ‘D’) is available for medical applications. Output is 5,000 Ansi lumens and the unit has a lens shift of 75% vertically, 10% horizontally. It has a 0.56:1 throw ratio and can produce a 100″ image from 4′ (1.2m). The D version has a special blue mode and support for Dicom simulation.
Connections include HDBaseT, HDMI and DVI-I and there is an integrated Wi-fi. Lamp life is 4,000 or 5,000 hours.
The list price for the regular version is $8,249 and for the medical version is $8.849.
