According to the Centre National du Cinéma (CNC), French Netflix subscribers watch around 30 hours each month, up from 20 in 2014. Netflix is the top SVoD platform in France, with SVoD providing 30% of pay video. In the first nine months of this year, €69.3 million was paid for SVoD services.
In other news, Netflix is now offering downloads for the first time (Netflix Now Allowing Downloads), but users are already critical that it does not cover all shows on the streaming service, with some of the biggest shows exempt, but Netflix says that it cannot get the download rights. In addition, it is unclear how long consumers can keep a downloaded title.
