NEC has enhanced its range of professional displays with a 4:3 aspect ratio monitor, the P212. Available in with (P212-SV) or without NEC’s Spectraview II software, the monitor is designed for use in image acquisition; command & control; and industrial applications. It can be operated 24/7. When used in medical environments, Dicom calibration is supported.
Spectraview is NEC’s colour management system. A sensor is used to take measurements from the display and the built-in software performs a calibration. In addition, the display features NEC’s Digital Uniformity Compensation, an ambient brightness sensor, picture-by-picture mode (for four sources) and an internal 14-bit 3D lookup table. Tilt, swivel, pivot and height adjustment features are built into the stand.
The 21.3″ display has 1600 x 1200 (4:3) resolution, a 1,500:1 contrast ratio and 178° viewing angles. Response time is 8ms and brightness is 440 cd/m².
DisplayPort, HDMI (carrying UltraHD at 60fps), DVI-D, VGA and USB 3.0 (x3) inputs are featured.
NEC US is selling the P212 now, for $900 (standard model) or $1,150 (Spectraview model).
