The VE projectors from NEC feature quick power-on, vertical keystone correction (manual, +/-40°) and manual zoom (1.1x). They are designed for mid-sized meeting rooms and classrooms with high ambient light levels; luminance reaches 3,000 lumens.
Both the VE303 (800 x 600) and VE303X (1024 x 768) are DLP projectors. They can be used with NEC’s free-to-download multi-display management software; this enables remote control from a central location.
Aside from resolution, specifications are shared between the models. They use a 195W lamp, lasting between 4,500 and 6,000 hours. Throw ratio is 1.95-2.15:1, and they can throw a 30″ – 300″ image. HDMI, mini-VGA, RCA, 9-pin D-Sub and USB-B ports are built in.
The projectors are 324 x 250 x 101mm and weigh 2.6kg. They will be available this month, for $340 (VE303) and $420 (VE303X).
