Hisense Pushes QDs for Energy Saving

QD Vision and Hisense are working together and have announced an initiative to lower display energy consumption. This appears to simply be a new method of promoting the power-savings of QD Vision’s quantum dots. According to independent lab tests, displays using these components use 25% less power than an LCD TV and 50% less than an OLED set, or LCD TV using indium phosphide-based QDs. Hisense and QD Vision believe that using Color IQ QDs could lower China’s carbon footprint by 4.6 million tons per year.
