NEC Display in the US has launched the E651-T which has an integrated IR touch screen that can respond to ten touches. Brightness of the FullHD S-PVA LCD display is 400 cd/m² and the contrast is 4,000:1. It is rated for 16/7 operation and the firm drew attention to the power efficiency with consumption at just 140W. The unit is fitted with 4mm toughened glass and the haze level is 11%. The E651-T can be used in landscape or portrait operation and the depth is 3.4 inches (8.6 cm).
Inputs are three HDMI and one VGA as well as analogue audio. There are dual 10W speakers and the system is supplied with DisplayNote software. It also has integrated 24 hour scheduling.
The monitor will be sold for $2,799 and the company hopes this will put it into the buying list for educators.
