Nanoco, producer of cadmium-free quantum dots, has said that the proposed RoHS exemption to quantum dots containing cadmium (QD Vision Granted RoHS Exemption) could be reviewed by members of the European parliament. The legislative process will include a period of 60 days’ scrutiny of the exemption.
Analyst Comment
It is true that the European Parliament could throw out this legislation; despite its lack of status, it does occasionally make a stand. However, it seems unlikely after the extensive research that has been done on such a technical topic, that the parliament will overturn the proposal.
