MPEG Introduces DisplayPort Patent License

MPEG LA has introduced a licence for the DisplayPort patent portfolio. The licence covers a variety of digital interface standards used to connect AV sources between products. Initial DisplayPort technology owners include Hitachi Maxell, Ltd; Koninklijke Philips; Silicon Image; and Sony. Any company with patents that it believes are essential to the DisplayPort standard is invited to submit them to MPEG for evaluation.
