Asus’ Zenwatch (Display Monitor Vol. 21 No 36) is now available in the USA, for $200. The product will also be available on the Play Store later. Additionally, the company has launched its Eeebook X205 laptop (Display Monitor Vol. 21 No 36) in Germany, and The Memo Pad 7 in the UK. John Lewis is the exclusive partner. The tablet costs £150 ($235).
The Nexus 6 smartphone from Google and Motorola is now listed in the UK Google Play store. It is likely to be available for preorder on 18th November, with a release on 1st December. Pricing starts at £415 ($660). The Desire Eye smartphone HTC (Display Monitor Vol. 21 No 40) is now on sale in the UK. Exclusively on Three, contracts start at £25 ($40) a month, with a £25 first payment.
Samsung’s Gear VR headset (Display Monitor Vol. 21 No 36) will go on sale in December, according to company VP Nick DiCarlo. Unofficially, pricing is said to be $200. We heard at IFA that the product would be launched this month, but plans have apparently changed.
The Sony Smartwatch 3 (Display Monitor Vol. 21 No 32) is now available on the US version of the Google Play store. It costs $250.
The Satellite CL10-B-100 (introduced at IFA, in Display Monitor Vol. 21 No 36) is a new laptop from Toshiba; one of the low-cost ‘Windows 8.1 with Bing’ products. Also known as the ‘Cloudbook’, it is effectively a Chromebook running Windows. Much of the storage (100GB) is in the cloud, using Microsoft’s Onedrive; local storage is only 32GB (SSD). The 11.6″ product has 1366 x 768 resolution and a 1.26GHz Intel Celeron processor (N2840). HDMI, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports are featured. Toshiba is selling the laptop now for €250.
