Los Angeles mobile augmented reality company, Mir, a has revealed Prism, its new lightweight AR glasses.
Made mostly from plastic, Prism has been designed to be low-cost and comfortable to wear. Users can insert their smartphones into a slot in the glasses, which will then project the stereoscopic images from the smartphone screen onto the surface of the glasses, giving wearers a digital overlay on top of their real-world environment.

The Mira Prism is available for pre-order now and costs $99.

I expect to see quite a lot of this kind of optical solution for re-using smartphones as AR applications become more common. I wonder about the weight of the phone on the front of the forehead. (BR)
