Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a regular on this service, has reported that Apple is planning to expand its miniLED backlights to an 11″ version of its iPad Pro in 2022. It is also said to be looking to extend its use to the MacBook Air and also to 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pros. The new MacBook Pro models are expected in Q3 2021. He said that the firm is working with Luxshare on SMT-based miniLEDs.

Apple put a lot of work into the engineering of the miniLED iPad Pro (Apple Explains More on Liquid Retina XDR Display) and received a good reaction so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the technology proliferate. (BR)
