Asobo Studios has opened sign-ups for a closed beta test of playing Microsoft’s latest flight simulator program in VR using a Windows Mixed Reality headset like the HP Reverb G2 and a suitable PC. There is a later plan to add other headsets.
What We Think
This is the kind of application that really needs mixed reality – with controls visible – rather than VR. I’m no gamer but I’ve been tempted to work out what kind of PC I could need to play Flight Simulator with a full experience. However, I probably wouldn’t play it enough to make it a good purchase.
